Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well. I have to say that I also am waiting for spring to appear. This morning we woke up to ten below zero temps. Talk about your all time kick in the butt, its almost the middle of March and it is suppose to be getting warmer. Its seems like it has been extra cold this year for lambing and calving. Between Dad and myself we have been getting through it and have had pretty good luck so far.
Just a little correction on the science fair. Our kids did pretty good this year. Zach and his friend Taylor got second place in their division and Rachael got third in her division. All the projects were pretty darn cool. Zach and Taylor built a trebuchey (spelling?)which throws a baseball between 50 and 60 feet. You should of see the look on their faces when we got that thing working. The judge liked it so much that they get to go to the regional science fair in Mitchell. Rach did a project by herself on Handedness. It determines if you are right handed or left. She worked very hard by testing 40 people and doing a great job on her display board. The imagination of all the science projects was pretty impressive. Well, its time to go. I hope to see everyone soon.

Hi all. I agree with Dave - this cold weather has been a kick in the rear! Kevin is so pleased that I have finally joined him in bad-mouthing winter!
I ran Saturday in 10-below wind chill - all the while hoping that it would be the last time until late fall that I had to put on three layers of clothes. Thank goodness I had the sense not to train for the full marathon this year!
I know Dave - pretty weenie of me to complain about running in this weather when you and Dad are out pulling calves at midnight in it. You are my heros!
I called Jill this weekend just to talk to someone who knew what it was like to feel temps over 30 degrees. It was supposed to be 70 there. (And Jill and David, if you are reading this....the winter weather really isn't THAT bad and I'm sure if you moved back to the Midwest it would warm up!).
Thanks for the updates Dave -- sounds like the kids did a great job on those projects. About the cold temps -- yeah, Bobbie and I are wimpy compared to you guys who work out in it every day.
We're looking forward to getting up to the farm when the weather warms.
Hi all!
Yes, we have beautiful weather right now! I'm sorry to hear that March is continuing to act like a lion, but that means that it will go out like a lamb, right? I actually got to enjoy some of it today because my class finished early. I was really bummed to be sitting on my rear at a computer from 9-5 yesterday trying to complete a project that had no direction or expectations from the instructor! Today it was 75 outside! I'm sorry I had to brag!
Love and miss you all!
Jill
