Famous in Sin City

Well I had a HUGE surrise yesterday morning at school. The local news crew showed up to interview a teacher at our school and since her class was in music they decided to drop into my room and interview me! I really had no choice and had no desire to be interviewed but it happened. Our lovely governor has proposed that some state employees take a 6% cut in their salaries to help with the budget crisis. The only people really affected are teachers and the DMV. The news wanted an interview from an at-risk schoolteacher. I was beyond nervous and tried to answer the questions respectfully but honestly. Anyhoo...I'm not able to find the complete interview and video of my class, but have found today's segment which has a clip of my classroom. I don't know if the link will work but if it does you'll see a view of my room and students. If you watch the video we are shown again, but nothing like yesterday's spotlight! I really didn't enjoy listening or seeing myself on TV, but it's too late now!

Dear Famous,
Looking pretty good there! Next time I'd hold out for a talkie part-- probably the pays better, not??? Kids and classroom look good too!! Good luck with holding on to the same size paycheck. Governor sounds like he must not have school age kids, (or they go to a private school).

If it's any consolation, Gov. Rounds is talking major spending cutbacks for S. D. also. Sounds like highway costs will be one place but I am sure there will be many others. Should be an interesting year or two!! Love, Mom
