A Jello Mold to Behold (And Other Important Holiday News)

Hello all! Just a quick note to wish everyone an official Happy Thanksgiving! And a special note to say thanks to all those that came to our early Thanksgiving in Lincoln. Hope you had fun - we sure did!

We really missed those of you who couldn't make it! Here are a few pictures to share. I wish I had more, but I wasn't exactly smooth in getting all the food set out, so the pictures went by the wayside as we all worked together to get the table set. Yes, I have a ways to go in my hostessing abilities. We only had one near-miss with the turkey.....it was, shall I say, a tad bit pink when Dave first tried to carve it for the meal. But, an additional hour of cooking, and no one went home with food poisoning! Speaking of pink, as you can see from the picture, I am no longer jello-challenged. I don't want to brag, but after 20-some years as the butt of your jello jokes, I feel justified in showing this picture of my jello dessert. Zach even told me it tasted good (and I didn't have to pay him for that).

In other holiday news, Mom got her work weekends switched, so we are now officially good for the Christmas party the weekend following Christmas Day, so Dec. 26-27! Yea! I can't wait. We went ahead and drew kids' names. Per Rachael and Taylor's request, they are moving up to the White Elephant Family Gift Exchange. So, that moves the twins into the children's drawing. Here's how it worked out: Dave's family has Kade; our family has Adelyn; Terry's family has Bella; Jill's family has Alex; and Jeannie's family has Jacob. As the newest member of the family, Emma gets gifts from everyone! Hope everyone is cool with this plan, but if anyone has questions or concerns, let me know.

In closing, at our early Thanksgiving last weekend, I think we were all so hungry after having to wait that extra hour for the turkey, that we forgot the most important thing....to officially give Thanks! So, I just wanted to let you know that I am very thankful for each and every one of you! Have a great holiday, and if you are traveling, travel safe.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say a blog thanks to Bobbie and Kevin and Kade for letting all of us invade. It was great. You should also know that I was the one who suggested cooking the turkey on his breast (usually results in a moister breast meat) but obviously takes longer to cook.

Am looking forward to Christmas weekend as well. Dad is supposed to find the tree tomorrow, (Thanksgiving) when he is at Jeannies. Do you think we'll have to cut a hole in the ceiling??

We are moving cattle out to corn stalks this afternoon. There is a brisk 15mi/hr west wind and I'm wondering where my long johns are. Oh well, maybe the ride will be exciting enough not to give us a chance to think about being cold. ( I hope it goes smoother than that).

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Love Mom

We were so bummed it didn't work to attend. We both read the original blog invite wrong and thought it was going to be in NE on Thanksgiving Day and we were pumped for a long weekend with all of you. With having Taylor last weekend, it would just have made for a really long trip for her both ways. We will plan a trip out to see you this coming year...PROMISE!! It will be a quiet one hear tomorrow, just Ter, I, Darc and her boyfriend Rick. We almost had 2 more guests, Dustin and Jen as she has been having contractions and her Doc didn't want her to travel, but today, said it was up to them, so they headed back to Fairmont. I think the lil one is planning on arriving ahead of the game. They are so very excited and so are we. Ter has a lot of traveling coming up this month, going to Canada for work, Vegas to Jilly Bean and Vegas Dave's and then to DC for work...what a jetsetter that boy is. Can't wait to see everyone for Christmas. We went to cut our tree down this past weekend since we have Taylor, Ter stuffed it in the trunk and Taylor said: "geeeze dad...we look like the Griswald's" of course Darc had to pipe in on that one and we probably actually did look like them. We wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving and we too are so very thankful for the wonderful Kriz Fam Zoo! From SW MN with Love. Thanks for sharing the pics Bobbie!

Sounds like quite the eventful weekend. We are sorry we missed out. You were lucky not to have us, as we were all sick in one form or another last weekend into the beginning of this week. We went to the doctor today and got some meds and we are good to go.

The girls are excited to have their grandpa's coming to their house for Thanksgiving. Isabella has been trying to remember the grandpa's names so she can address them by name when they are here. Adelyn is just loving saying gand-pa. Alex pipes in on occasion. Isabella is really bummed she is not going to see grandma, but understands you must work.

Anyway, enough babbling. I am just relieved to get a few days off. My eyes have been killing me. The new job has lots of proofing in it. I am lovin it.

I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. Gobble Gobble.

I can't let Mom take the fall all alone for the pink turkey. Her theory seemed very sound to me....the juices run downhill, so put the breast downhill..... :-)

We had a great time in Lincoln - thanks to Bobbie, Kevin, Kade and Abby!! I will say the food was excellent - especially the jello. We also learned that Kevin didn't know what breasts were - I think he meant on the turkey!!:)
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hey, I have a built-in excuse. Let's just say Jill and Jeannie would have had a field day with boob jokes.

Boob jokes? Why do Jeannie and I get pinned for boob jokes? Not fair, neither of us was there!
Thanks for the pics and Christmas update. I am so excited to tell you that we bought tickets last night to come the 24-28! Emma will get to the farm before she's a year old! We can't wait for all of you to meet her or see her again! Say a few prayers for me cuz I'm already freaking out about flying with her! It will all be worth it!
