My gosh, if Thanksgiving is done that means that it's almost Christmas!! How did anyone shopping on "Black Friday" do today?? I didn' t do much to encourage the economy-- just felt good to sit drinking coffee this morning and watch all those crazies attack the stores on TV. Didn't feel like I was missing much!!
Wanted to say a big thanks, first to Ter and Tammy for the great time we had at Dustin's wedding. Should be a dance about 2x weekly to get Dad to kick up his heels more often. It's probably as close to exercise as I'm going to get him. Was a beautiful wedding -- hope you had a quiet Thanksgiving to recover.
Jeannie and Jason, you did a great job hosting both families Thanksgiving. Looked like everyone visited pretty well, and the food was delicious. The rest of you should have come, just cause there was enough food for you all and probably most of Jeannie and Jason's neighborhood also. Of course the best fun was playing with Isabella, Alex, and Addy.
Today was nice and quiet-- did a little sewing and we took a couple of horses down to the river to ride since it was so nice. Girlfriend did so good on the hills and creek crossings. If I don't mess her up, she might be a keeper!! I know-- I should have been putting outside lights up, but I do have a few weeks yet, not?? Besides I can' t decorate much inside until the carpet cleaner guy comes and does his stuff. Always a good idea to have a few excuses ready--
Love you all, and we wish you all a late Happy Thanksgiving------------Mom

Hi Mom and everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was very, very quiet here, although we did start the four-day weekend by taking in a Lincoln Stars hockey game. Kade has a Stars mini-flag, and he almost took my eye out a few times as he waved it, as well as the eyes of those seated on either side of him. Needless to say, he enjoyed the game.
I stayed far away from Black Friday. I am indecisive on a normal shopping day, and I just don't think that would cut it at 5 a.m. among the bargain-crazed masses. Kevin, however, found a love for the Black Friday internet deals, and so I think our Christmas gift is on its way.
Speaking of Christmas gifts, Rachael, if you are reading this....I need ideas girl! Drop me an email and give me some choices to work with. I want to maintain my status as the coolest aunt
(that is, the coolest aunt from Nebraska).
Mom, I spent an hour and a half shopping at SuperTarget today. ...And didn't remember to look for Kade's gift (as we discussed over the phone earlier this week) until I was half way home. Thought you might get a laugh out of that. I'll go back tomorrow. :-)
I made leftover turkey enchiladas yesterday. So, out of our 17-pound turkey, we now have only 13 pounds to go. Yikes. Where are the barn cats when you need them?
Hope everyone is doing well.
I can identify, Bobbie. Have done whatever shopping I've done so far per internet-- so far have gotten exactly what I wanted, (except for Kade's choice).
Had an extra day off yesterday and I encountered a stomach flu bug that kinda laid me low. Was only a 24hr bug-- good thing-- I can only stand about that much time of couch occupancy. Pretty boring!!
Anyway was back to the salt mines today and except for a stomach that's still a little squirrely the problem is gone.
Sounds like Jacob and Melissa enjoyed the same bug--
The great cow barons brought home the last of the 70 odd old cows they were looking for yesterday. Hope this works again this year-- they got them cheap enough unless things really go to pot with the economy.
Good luck with the shopping stuff- wish I could find a Christmas elf to put up my lights and decorate. I get later every year. This year the excuse is that the carpet cleaning guy is coming Dec 12th-- no sense in decorating before that!
Love, Mom
