And the Great Pumpkin Carving winner is...

We'll make you wait for a second. Glad to see Jill FINALLY made it to the blog. That leaves just Melissa/Dave to sign up, then the family will be officially in cyberspace!

Thanks to Melissa and everybody else for the great Halloween bash. As usual, there was enough food to feed three armies (including a couple new kinds of soup.) Oh, and the Wild Turkey went down well too. Terry, there was plenty of Lord Calvert left over -- I guess that's because you weren't there to put a dent in the supply.

So the winner of the pumpkin carving contest was.... (drum roll please....) ..... ... .. DAVE and LINDA BONDE! We can't remember if they've won it before. If they have, it's been a long time, so congrats to them. I should note, EVERYONE's pumpkin was different, including a snowman pumpkin from perennial favorites Bob/Sharon who partnered with Jeannie. There was a last minute partner trade as perennial losers Bobbie/Kevin broke up. Kevin teamed with Melissa and Bobbie went with Rachel.
The flea market was great. I bought six aluminum bats for $6 since one was Kade's size. He proceeded to take it pheasant hunting, thinking he was going to club a bird to death. City boy...
The pumpkin awards, if I can remember correctly were:
Most artistic: Bobbie/Rachel for their "scary tree" pumpkin (Bobbie was hampered without my creativity);
Tallest: Bob/Sharon/Jeannie for their triple-decker snowman pumpkin
Grossest: Melissa/Kevin for their "scary owl"
Scariest: Dave/Linda
Jason/Zach had a football helmet pumpkin and I'm not sure what the team of Dave/Jacob/Kade was awarded with but their pumpkin got crowd's sympathy vote.

As usual, fun was had by all. I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story...
(by the way, Vegas Dave, until you can show up with some game, you'll be considered the pumpkin carving rookie)
;)

It is now time to overthrow the commissioner. I am speaking for all of those who did not get mentioned in the carving. I would just like it to be known I was partnered with mom and dad this year for the triple decker pumpkin. I realize my committment level was not fully there, but I would at least like an honorable mention.

From Jeannie via Bobbie. Seems like the commisssioner has left me out once again!

Please excuse her. It's the pregnancy hormones kicking in. She can't even remember her password from signing up yesterday.

Kevin,I would watch out for those pregnancy hormones.
Jeannie, I thought the triple decker was a nice try and I'm sure you helped out as best you could. :)
