Ice Capades -- Nebraska-style!
So last weekend we took to the ice as there is open skating for a couple hours at the hockey rink where the Lincoln Stars play. I hadn't been skating since I was a kid 30-some years ago and Bobbie, I'm told, skated a little more but not for years either. I'm happy to report neither of us fell! I can't say the same for our aspiring hockey player, though. But he was a trooper -- his little legs just weren't quite strong enough to hold him up real well, but he got up each time and never complained. He did start catching on after a few laps. We'll have to go again -- it was great fun!Two minutes for fighting!

Famous in Sin City
Well I had a HUGE surrise yesterday morning at school. The local news crew showed up to interview a teacher at our school and since her class was in music they decided to drop into my room and interview me! I really had no choice and had no desire to be interviewed but it happened. Our lovely governor has proposed that some state employees take a 6% cut in their salaries to help with the budget crisis. The only people really affected are teachers and the DMV. The news wanted an interview from an at-risk schoolteacher. I was beyond nervous and tried to answer the questions respectfully but honestly. Anyhoo...I'm not able to find the complete interview and video of my class, but have found today's segment which has a clip of my classroom. I don't know if the link will work but if it does you'll see a view of my room and students. If you watch the video we are shown again, but nothing like yesterday's spotlight! I really didn't enjoy listening or seeing myself on TV, but it's too late now!

Look at Us We're 1!

Okay, I guess I am not good at getting the pictures to look pretty on here. I can't believe the girls are 1 already. It seems like yesterday I was updating everyone about their status in the hospital.
Since the party things have been quite busy here. Adelyn is walking everywhere and Alexandra is crawling at full speed. I am starting to get a glimpse of what is in store for the future. Both of the girls have discovered Buddy's food dish. Adelyn likes to play in it and Alexandra would eat the whole bowl if we didn't stop her.
Isabella is assuming the role as big sister perfectly. "Mommy, this one is in my room. Get her out!" "That's Mine!" She has also started gymnastics, and is really enjoying herself. Where does the time go.
Anyway, I will not bore you any further. Enjoy the pictures. Hope everyone is staying warm. It was 26 below yesterday morning.
Have a great weekend! Jeannie
Taylor Weekend!
Taylor is here this weekend, and we always look forward to that! She has the weekend pretty well planned for us. She wants to go snowmobiling and get pulled on a tube behind it, get her nails done at a salon (will see about that one - HA) play a game or two of Monopoly and of course get her Shaylene fix along with a game or two at the bowling alley.
Ok Dad Kriz...rub it in that you guys are in a heat wave down there. Yes...it's been frigid to say the least, makes for some great cuddling weather though, you always have to find a way to make the best of it right?!
Darc got a job...YES...especially with all the Schwans cuts, there is not much available around here. She will be working at US Bank, she starts out in collections (not fun I am sure) but the pay is really good and she can transfer out of there into other areas if she wants. So it's a good way to get her foot in the door.
Stay Warm Kriz Family and hopefully I will get some pictures this weekend of all of Taylor's activities she has planned for us.
Love,
Tammy
PS: Jeannie and Jason - can't wait to see the pics from the Birthday Party!

Schwans Update
Hey - I wanted to let everyone know that I made it through the job cuts today. It's been kind of stressful here lately, but I hope now that it will get much better. Hope everyone is enjoying the snow.

Another great movie
Since we signed up with Netflix, I've been watching more movies than I usually do. Especially when some are just a click away watching them online. The thing I really like about this is that I get to watch movies that I ordinarily wouldn't know anything about. One such film is The Lives of Others -- it's a foreign film with subtitles. But don't let that deter you from watching it. Great movie -- it kept me up til 11:30 last night to see how it would turn out.

Happy Birthday to the Twins!!
I know Adelyn and Alex can't read yet, but I thought we should still acknowledge the BIG day! Happy Birthday, girls. And congratulations to Jeannie, Jason and Isabella on completing your first year as a family of five. You guys are great!

movie review
Bobbie and I saw the movie Valkrye with Tom Cruise today (Sunday). We had some movie coupons so we enlisted a baby sitter for a couple hours. Great movie -- edge of the seat thriller. If you have a chance to see it, Siskel and Ebert (Bobbie and Kevin) highly recommend it.

Twins B-Day!
On Jan. 6 the twins will officially be one year old. We're having a costume party on Jan. 10 (next Sat.) at 11 AM for their birthday. Isabella wanted Addy and Alex to wear their new cheerleader outfits, so we made their party a costume party. If anybody is in the area we would love for you to stop by. Thanks, Jason
YES MAN!!
We just went to the movie "Yes Man" and guess what city was part of this funny movie?? You got it...Lincoln Nebraska...You have got to see the movie guys. We got to see the Telephone Museum, some chicken factory and of course the NE CORNHUSKERS!! HA!!
It's snowing, but first we just had a nice coat of ice to base the new snow fall on. Ter went to the lumber yard, as he is bored and wants to trim out the garage doors and is trying to talk me into painting it for him before he puts it on...NOT...it's kind of like how when I ask him to help put the Holiday decorations away and to help clean...his excitement just isn't there either. Go Figure!
Great background Kev...now you just need to blog...you haven't been on here much lately.
Stay warm and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thanks Bobbie for getting me some recipes, now I just need to get Jeannie, Melissa and Jill on board so I can work on the Kriz Family Cookbook!
