sniff... sniff... do I smell cheesecake?

Hey everybody -- figured I'd get on here and update y'all with what we've been up to. Let's see... Kade's winding down on his T-ball season -- he has one game left, but we'll be heading for the farm that weekend (July 18-20), so his actual last game was this past weekend.

He'd ordinarily would be crushed to miss a T-ball game, but a visit to the farm ranks right up there with the T-ball game and as we explained it to him "the fun at the farm last for 2 or 3 days, where the T-ball game is just an hour!" -- pretty smart, eh?

Bobbie and myself did something new -- we combined both our physical activity hobbies and competed in a duathlon in Lincoln. Bobbie did the running portion and I the biking portion. She started by running 2 miles, then tagged me and I biked 12 miles, then tagged her for another 2 mile run. There were 80-some competitors and 11 teams. Our team name, "The Wonder Pets" was given to us by Coach Kade (if you have kids under 5, you know the Wonder Pets).

Anyhoo, it was a great time and we brought home a medal for Coach, which was pretty cool. Actually, the best part was teaming up with Bobbie and hearing Kade cheer everytime I crested the big hill along the loop we rode. I hope to do it again, if my teamate is willing to let me ride her coattails.

Next up is a trip to the farm next weekend. We're all excited and ready for it. I understand a certain someone from Sin City is at the farm... a certain someone who makes great cheesecakes... a certain someone who just might make a cheescake while we're there... hmmm..... a certain someone that would not want to disappoint her 4-year old nephew (or his dad)...

See ya there!

What? You want cheesecake in the middle of summer? Don't you know that it's ice cream time? Cheesecake requires turning the oven on and heating up the house! And I don't have any of my recipes at the farm! I don't think it's possible. That would require work on my part and I am on vacation! I can't believe you would try to guilt me into this by using your son, well no, I do believe you would do that! I will need some thinking time for this...I'm off to take a walk. See you soon!

Oh, don't worry about Kade on the cheesecake. If you want to win Kade's heart, all you have to be willing to do is throw a baseball around for an hour or two!

As far as Kevin, he'd probably be as content (maybe more) if there's an ice cold 12-pack of beer ready for him. Throw in some Doritos and he'll forget all about the cheesecake!
