Memorial Day weekend in pics

Thanks for a GREAT time over Memorial Day weekend. As we were driving back, Kade asked if we could stay for five days next time. :)

so close, yet so far away

So much potential... a star in the making....

but, then he put those ski goggles on and, well, the rest is history.

Big Man in Little Pants

Okay I could not resist this. Kevin I was viewing one of your frequented blog sites and noticed this pic that your friends put on the blog of yourself. I found it very interesting and a little distrurbing, but had to bring attention to it in the family. Congrats on the new member of the family. Damn your sexy.

Caption on the blog is listed below.
"Here is Kevin W. getting ready to race on the ProTour - he does need to work on his fitness a bit. There are reports that he will spend more time riding, and less time messing with photoshop, so he should be back to mid-season form soon."
By the way your friends "ROCK"!

The Master Speaks...

I'm baaack! No, you do not need to refer to me as the Master, I would just like for you to know that it is somewhat official that I survived grad school! I don't have the diploma but have seen a copy of my transript and received a letter from the "auditor" saying that my courses are complete and I've finished my program. Our projects were compiled into chapters of a book that our instructor is sending to a publisher (like she does with all of her classes) and she is publishing it online. If you would really like to read alot of babble about education in Las Vegas, let me know and I'll give you the site. I have not looked at it since the last day of class. I was on the editing team and we spent about 12 hours poring over the entire 500 and some pages! I don't know if I'll look at it ever again! It's done and it does feel great to say I did it! I really thought I wanted to drop out at times, but the thought of paying school loans that soon just wasn't appealing. Anyhoo...thanks for the thoughts and words of encouragement. I love you all!

What are the summer plans? David and I are trying to pick a week to come back and hopefully see everyone. His best chances for time off are in the middle of the month. We were looking at July 19-25 or Aug. 9-17. He is not able to take the beginning or end of the month off because that's his busiest time, and even though he's in a really nice part of town people still need to be evicted for not paying the rent! Please let us know what plans you have. We are so excited to see everyone!

Hope all is well, take care.
Love and miss you,
Jill and VD

The Generals finish in style!

Kade's soccer team -- the Generals -- ended their season with a game last Sunday. Kade had fun, but as one of the younger players tended to shy away from the "scrums." He took a kick under his shin guard during the last game and then abruptly checked out of the game and became much more interested in discussing amongst his teammates on the bench what colors of Gatorade we brought for the team.

He is excited to begin T-ball in June. That should be a hoot.

We Need A New Gas Poll

Mr. Blog Commissioner - the way the gas prices are soaring - I think you better re-do the earlier gas poll. When will it stop? :(

Just a quick note

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the nice cards and calls over the past weekend. We enjoyed them all. Bobbie and Kevin, we did miss getting to visit you, although not the long drive!! Sorry to have missed the chance to view a real life little kid soccer game, hopefully he will play again next year.

Had a nice time in Nebraska. Was impressed to see Adam graduated with honors, a big thing since he had 60 kids in his class. Enjoyed visiting with all the Rosenkrans extended family. Samantha was there with Julie of course and guess what-- she brought a boyfriend. Hard to believe it's time for that! Jim, Connie, and Jennifer came of course, and Dave, Melissa and crew. That makes quite a bunch of cousins!

Spent Sunday at Jeannie and Jason's for dinner and baby rocking (and Isabella play). Was nice enough to go outside to walk with the babies, although the wind was cold. In all it was a great weekend, even if I was tired yesterday and kind of thick brained!

The guys have been trying to plant corn and actually have maybe 80 acres in. Today it's raining again, so that's not an option. I wanted to plant also, my seedlings really need to be in the ground. At least the last couple of nights I haven't had to run out and throw blankets over them to prevent frostbite. I hope that is done for the season!

Look forward to seeing you end of May, which really isn't too far off, is it?? Have a great few weeks. Love, Mom and Dad

Looks like rain

Probably a good thing you're not coming this weekend, Bob and Sharon. There's an 80 percent chance of rain Saturday. Kade's game looks to be a rain out. Have a good weekend all!

She's a "master"

I just thought everyone should know that our very own "Jilly Bean" has officially finished graduate school, and as of May 18 (graduation day) will have her master's degree! That's very cool. She told me last weekend that her computer isn't working right, so if you are going to drop her a note, perhaps consider using the old-fashioned mail system.

And in case she finds a computer that works....Congratulations, Jill! We knew you could do it and are very proud of you.

She's leading the pack!

Gorgeous morning for the Lincoln Marathon. Bobbie led the pack up this hill! Shortly after taking this she high-fived me and Kade and continued on. This is about the half-way point of her 13-mile journey. Maybe she'll jump on here later and fill you in on her race. Great job Bobs!

Good Luck to Bobbie!

Bobbie is running the half-marathon on Sunday here in town. I know she doesn't need the luck as she is an veteran at running this by now, but Kade and I will be cheering her on none-the-less.
