Do it for the Doughnut Holes!

Kade ran in a 1-mile kids race on Saturday. Bobbie ran in the adult version, of course. The little guy has his dad's foot speed, unfortunately. He finished 226th out of 230. Though he did received the spoils of participating -- a medal and all the ultra sugary doughnut holes he could eat afterwards.

Cole Daniel Nawrocki

Meet the newest member of our family. Cole Daniel was born on March 28, 2006 (1 month early) and weighed 6 pounds 14 oz. Dad, Mom and brother Ty are all doing fine and can't wait to bring me home.

Gramma Tammy is missing everyone at the Kriz Farm, but I am sure glad I got to meet her and Aunty Darcy. Can't wait to meet Papa Ter and Aunty Taylor.

Grandpa Sip would be Proud!!

Well I had the day off today. Taylor came last night as she is going to be going home early on Saturday night to spend Easter at her mom's. So what better way to spend a snowy Friday afternoon then going to the bowling alley. Taylor and I took in 2 good games. Taylor posted a score of 60 and 89 respectfully without bumpers (way to go Taylor). She did great. I on the other hand posted a 202 and 142 respectfully. Don't know what happened, but on my first game I only missed 3 pins and that was on the last ball of the 10th frame. I often think of Grandpa when we do things like this. What a great gift he gave us as kids. So all of you Kriz bowlers out there, watch out we are practicing up. We might have to take over the Armour bowling alley some weekend again. It was fun over Christmas.

I hope everyone is doing well. It has been snowing here all day, but still not enough snow to ride the snowmobile. Sounds like it is suppose to be getting warmer next week. Can't wait. Sounds like Taylor and I will see most of you next weekend when we go to the farm. Hope everyone is staying dry. Talk to you soon.

Hockey fever at our house

We went to the Lincoln Stars hockey game Saturday night. Kade loves to go -- he's had hockey fever all winter. Our basement has pretty much been turned into an "ice" rink, complete with goals at each end and a nerf ball for a puck.

The house is littered with kid-sized hockey sticks, which Santa brought him. So if you see any of us with a couple bruises, it's due to being "checked" into the boards -- which also doubles as a sofa.

Everybody have a good week.

Indecisive One Makes Last Minute Plans!

Well, after going back and forth checking the Allegiant site at least 10 million times I have booked a Spring Break flight to SD to enjoy the fine weather and visit as much family as possible! I am flying in on Tuesday (18th) and will stay a couple days at the farm and then go to the Thurston's to meet the newest members before I return to Vegas on Saturday. I'm sorry I won't be able to see all of you, but I'm already thinking about summer plans. Hopefully, Vegas David won't be tied up at work and we'll come back together. We heard that many married couples actually travel together, so we're going to try it! Anyhoo...hope all is well. Love to all of you!

You all wanted a new look? -- you got it!

Sharon -- I couldn't resist the horse to usher in a long-awaited spring. That, and I figured I'd score a few son-in-law brownie points! As for the photo at right, well, that pretty much speaks for itself.

It's a Sad Day!

It is a sad day in the Thurston household, well at least for me. This week is the last week I get to stay home with the twins. The saddness has hit me this morning as I sit and read all the good news on the blog, drink my coffee and allow Alexandra to nuzzle her little head under mine.

Although I enjoy my job and all the challenges it brings to me, I will miss all the cuddle time I get to do during the day. I know these two little girls will be as big as Isabella at the blink of an eye, and instead of wanting to be by my side at all times they will be saying, "After Wubbzy mom, okay!"

Well, on a little less mushier note I would like to extend an invitation to all of you for the twins dedication. It will be held on March 30th at Falls Church in Sioux Falls. Our new church does not do baptisms until they child is old enough to accept God on their own. I know not everyone will probably be able to make it, but I want to make sure you mark it in your calendars. However, if you do come please know that the twins are cooing and half smiling. Just wanted to give a little incentive.

Before I sign off, I would like to thank everyone for all the help we have received through the birth and beginning of Alex and Addy's new life. We would not have been able to make it without all of you. A special thank you to mom. She has been spending quite a bit of time at our house baby rocking, cleaning, doing laundry and playing hide-and-go seek with Bella. THANK YOU!

Jeannie. Jason and the girls

PS: We are so ready for the weather to be nice. Bella has requested daily she get to go to the farm and see all of the animals and her cousins. She has some new puddle jumping boots she would like to try out on some of grandpa and grandma's BIG puddles.

Its to cold

Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well. I have to say that I also am waiting for spring to appear. This morning we woke up to ten below zero temps. Talk about your all time kick in the butt, its almost the middle of March and it is suppose to be getting warmer. Its seems like it has been extra cold this year for lambing and calving. Between Dad and myself we have been getting through it and have had pretty good luck so far.
Just a little correction on the science fair. Our kids did pretty good this year. Zach and his friend Taylor got second place in their division and Rachael got third in her division. All the projects were pretty darn cool. Zach and Taylor built a trebuchey (spelling?)which throws a baseball between 50 and 60 feet. You should of see the look on their faces when we got that thing working. The judge liked it so much that they get to go to the regional science fair in Mitchell. Rach did a project by herself on Handedness. It determines if you are right handed or left. She worked very hard by testing 40 people and doing a great job on her display board. The imagination of all the science projects was pretty impressive. Well, its time to go. I hope to see everyone soon.

Random drivel...

Bobbie returned tonight from an overnight conference in Kearney. Kade, I and Abbey survived without too much trouble.

I've thought about giving the blog a new look -- but Bobbie said she likes it as is with the family pics. So I decided to let the poll chime in.

I had to field some tough questions from Kade as we were heading out to dinner last night. He was asking about what happens when Abbey dies, then what happens when we die, and if mommy and daddy would die before him... Geez, I just wanted a cheeseburger! So I did what any good dad would do -- I told him to wait until his mother got home to ask her. :)
